Can a Company Change PF Contributions for Long-term Employees During Contract Renewal?

khaleel.qureshi
Hi, please let me know if a company can renew the contract of permanent employees who are contributing to PF and have been working for the company for 4 years. The new contract states that all confirmed employees who were previously contributing to PF will not be entitled to the same from now onwards.

Kindly suggest what should be done in this scenario.

I don't know from which part of the world you are asking this question. To me, I am very sorry, your question seems to be self-contradictory. You say that the employees are already confirmed and have rendered 4 years of service so far. Then, how does the question of renewal of contract arise?

Thank you for the reply. That is what I am confused about—how HR is issuing contract renewal letters. I just want to know how to go about it, whether to accept it or complain about it to the labor commission.

I totally agree with Sri Umakanthan sir's reply.

Q-01: Can a company renew the contract of permanent employees?

Ans: If an employee is already on the rolls of the company, where is the question of a contract? Or is it a renewal?

Q-02: Who is drawing PF and has been working for the company for 4 years?

Ans: Who is drawing PF? Or who is contributing to the PF?

Q-03: The new contract states, "All those confirmed employees who were drawing PF previously won't be entitled to the same from now onwards."

Ans: Your question is not clear.

Please confirm back to the forum whether you were under a Fixed Term Contract of 4 years or were on the rolls of the company as a regular employee to provide an appropriate view. Once you are a member of EPF, how come they discontinue on renewal?
