Completed Probation but No Salary Increase Yet: Should I Ask or Wait?

Fazla
Hi Seniors, I'm working as an Accounts & HR Assistant in a private company. I was informed during my very first interview that I needed to complete a 3-month probation period after which I could expect a salary increment. I successfully completed my probation last month, but I have yet to see any indication of a salary increase. Should I proactively request it from management, or would it be better to wait for them to initiate the increase? I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this matter.

Thank you,
Fazla

Everyone works for financial and knowledge growth. If you were told that there would be an increment after 3 months, then you can ask about it. Do you have an offer letter, and if yes, is it mentioned in it? Secondly, if you have some doubts in your mind, you will not be able to focus on your work. Moreover, you will look for other options. To avoid this, it's better to discuss it. This will also clarify what management is expecting from you. If you are an underperformer, you will be able to work on your weak points and definitely be eligible for growth and an increment.

All the best!

I would also suggest you take your offer letter/appointment letter in the form of a soft or hard copy. Also, have salary slips. These documents will be favorable and add points for your growth in this company as well as in some other company. If your company is not providing it until now, then being a part of the HR team, you can suggest your company provide these documents to all employees.

Good luck!
