Revised Minimum Rates of Wages

The State of UP and NCT of Delhi have also revised their minimum rates of wages from April 01, 2014, which are as follows:

Revised Minimum Rates of Wages with VDA in NCT of Delhi w.e.f. 1-4-2014

- Unskilled: $8554.00
- Semi-Skilled: $9438.00
- Skilled: $10374.00
- Non-Matriculates: $9438.00
- Matriculates but not Graduates: $10374.00
- Graduates and above: $11310.00

Revised Minimum Rates of Wages with VDA in Uttar Pradesh w.e.f. 1-4-2014 to 30-9-2014

- Unskilled: $6362.26
- Semi-Skilled: $6998.49
- Skilled: $7839.42

We need to wait for the government notification from both states.

When the state minimum wages for a category are lower than the central minimum wages as per the attached notification, which one has to be followed? Please clarify as many of the minimum wages are lower in our state compared to the central minimum wages.
