Facing Immediate Resignation Pressure: How Should I Handle This Unfair Situation?

mona77
I joined four years ago and have worked on several projects with good ratings. In my last project, due to a misunderstanding with management, I was released from the project and moved to the bench. After one month, HR is now forcing me to resign immediately, citing non-performance in my last account. The reason they mentioned for the non-performance is very trivial and known to all my team members. I have explained all the efforts I put in and also mentioned that I was not provided any notice period, not even two weeks, despite the company policy requiring a three-month notice. Can you please provide me with some guidance on this situation?

Thanks for your inputs!

My Reporting Manager, his manager, and HR are all on the same side. HR is the only one discussing resignation with me. I have all my achievement details, even appreciated by them. However, they bring up insignificant issues to pressure me into resigning. Is there a possibility they may terminate me for non-performance reasons? There has been no email communication regarding resignation or termination with me.

I'm compassionate with you. Your company cannot terminate you on non-performance grounds when you have served for four years and, moreover, when you have received good ratings. However, the company can cite reasons such as 'project duration' or 'losing the contract with the client', and provide you with compensation or put you on a three-month notice period before parting ways. You may choose to contest your case with your company based on the terms of your appointment. Please send me your appointment letter, and I can offer more precise suggestions.

Nanda Kishore
