Worried About No Salary Slips? How to Handle Job Changes Without Proof of Income

aparna.c
Dear seniors, Currently, I am working with an IT Telecom company with an employee strength of 30+. I joined this company 6 months ago. The company is not providing salary slips to employees and pays salaries by check. However, for the past 2-3 months, the company has started paying salaries in cash instead of checks. I am now worried about what to do if I want to change my job and the next company asks for a payslip or some proof of my salary. Seniors, please guide me.

Regards,

You can demand a salary slip from the company. Additionally, it is advisable to deposit the cash in the bank every month so there is a track of the cash deposits. You can also request a salary certificate. Moreover, your appointment letter must have the salary details, which is sufficient. If there is any hike in salary, you can ask for an increment letter too.

Some companies are not providing salary slips every month, but if you need a salary slip for any reason, you can ask your HR person to provide it. The employer has to provide salary slips for the last 3 months at least.

At the time of separation, usually, the company provides the last 3 months' salary, so there is no need to worry. You may also demand a salary certificate at any time, as said by Saji. The company is liable to provide all supporting documents whenever required.
