Facing Job Termination Over Fake Employment Certificate: How to Move Forward?

babukhari
My friend has been working in a reputed IT company for the past 9 years. Suddenly, they went for a Background Check (BGC) and discovered that it was fake. The HR people informed them that they are going to terminate their employment and mentioned that they will state it as terminated in the service letter. They are not accepting resignation and are unwilling to issue an Experience Letter or a Relieving Letter; only a service letter will be provided.

Handling Employment Termination Due to Background Check Issues

Please provide me with suggestions on how to handle this situation. My friend is the sole breadwinner for five families. How can they explain this situation to a potential new employer?

Apart from what you mentioned, you haven't clarified whether the experience shown by your friend was fake or not. In other words, was the HR correct when they stated the experience was fake? Please provide complete details instead of just presenting one side of the story.

Sorry, sir, HR has confirmed that it is fake. I think he knows there is a problem with those documents, but he is confident in his work and performance. After 8 years and 9 months, who could expect that they would go for a Background Check (BGC)? The previous company verified him, and there were no issues. However, a year and a half ago, another company took over, and now they are conducting a BGC. He is shocked about this BGC. They mentioned that they are going to terminate his employment without accepting his resignation. Please advise on what impact this situation may have on his future employability.
