Seeking Interview Q&A Guide for Hiring a Business Development Manager – Can You Help?

Dear All, I am new to this forum, and my name is Dhinakaran. Currently, I am serving as a General Manager in a private concern, and we are planning to recruit a Business Development Manager/Executive for international business. Basically, our core business is in publishing and web development services.

Request for Interview Q&A Document

Can anyone help me by sharing the Interview Q&A document or the interview pattern/procedure to be followed for recruiting a BDM?

There are so many different interview patterns and varieties of questions, but all will make sense only if they match your business requirements. What you, as a business owner, want these sales guys to do for you is your interview question. There are millions of articles you will find on the internet on this subject for interviewees and interviewers. So, spend some time reading them.

At the end of the day, the candidate we need for our business is "that perfect candidate who fits neatly into our culture, business requirements, and budget" and for whom we have opportunities for growth as well. And who can best answer these questions? Of course, "ME," the "Business Owner." So, I must ask myself, what kind of candidate I need for my business and have them as my interview questions.

One Thumb Rule

You must ask the "same question" to all candidates so you can drill down to a conclusion.

Thank you so much for your prompt answer. I have an idea on how to recruit people based on my business needs, and I have also referred to many articles on the internet. Since we do not have any HR personnel in our company, I need some soft copies of interview Q&A (for example, Aptitude test, Verbal test, etc.) to evaluate candidates effectively for the BDM position. I have found that some candidates are good orally but lack skills in verbal communication, analytical skills, etc.

Evaluating Candidates for the BDM Position

To identify the right person for the right position, I want to give a written test to evaluate their performance in both oral and written communication. Please advise on this.

Hi all,

In hiring, is there any IQ or technical test for Project Managers and Business Development Executives? Because in some cases, we couldn't identify the right candidate. Some will clear both written and oral tests, but they are not a good fit for the organization. Others may be a good fit for the organization but won't clear the tests. Can you guys share some of your experiences and suggestions?
