Honeymaya
Hello Seniors.
I am Priyanka, working as a HR Admin executive in a website design company since 1 year. Till date I am handling all HR and Admin activities like entire Recruitment process, Personnel record management, Attendance management, etc.. Now my management is asking me to handle the clients also...
So I am confused , whether this is a good opportunity for me or It would lead me away from my HR profile ??????????????
One More thing I want to include that at this stage of my career I want to learn More and more in HR Operations Profile (like Payroll, HR compliance, PMS, Competency Mapping, etc)
So what should I do as in my current company there is no payroll, PF............??????????????????????????????????
Please Help..
Waiting for your Valuable Suggestions..
Thank you in advance

Dear Priyanka
It is not unusual to find that in small companies, HR is required to do a lot of other tasks which may not be related at all to HR.
This is presumably a cost-saving measure intended to utilize the spare time of the resource.
One also understands your desire to learn more of HR.
However, I am afraid your options are limited in a small company. It is up to you whether you take up this assignment; but since there is no scope for refusal; you might start exploring other better opportunities elsewhere.
Warm regards.

I have already inquired about the same, and my management said that I will be involved in the whole process Client handling along with that i will have to handle the HR Department also and they also added that they would hire a new person to assist me if there will be more work pressure.
My New responsibilities would be-

2. I have to share the product details with the clients .
3. To know the requirements of the Clients.
4. To forward the Client requirement detail to the project manager.

I think you born with good luck...Dont think more on this, just accept it and start work on this. Thru this work u will learn hr and specially compliance process as well production matters and issues related to it. Moreover it will be plus point for you to get change like this. Very few people in this ind, who get opportunity like u.It is not easy to get information from deference dept to fill clients form but i hope u maintain good relation wit them so they will provide information to fill form.
The responsibility which mgmt decide to give u is little bit tough in starting days but not impossible. U can do it. Once you familiar with this, you will fully enjoy ur work and you will get good opportunity in future.
Other company will keen to hire you after exp in this after 2 to 3 yrs.
All the best

Hi Priyanka,

Being only 1 year in HR, I understand it is a bit challenging to accept this responsibility.

But with guidance from your seniors, industry peers and from this forum members, I think you can do it.

Client management will make you mature and provide knowledge on multiple dimensions including, (I) customer relationship, (ii) expectation management, (iii) product knowledge, (iv) market behavior, (v) HR interfaces & touch points both internal & external organizations and many more.

My strong suggestion is that never allow to build stress within yourself. Upfront, discuss with seniors and competent people and understand the root causes of any problem and difficulties, before it becomes a bottleneck.

I agree with Nimai Majumdar, U should maintain good relation professionally with seniors to get information from them.
Also, one thing keep in mind that whatever you information ask from some one, just put mail. Never communicate with anybody verbally,Always communicate thru mail or on paper to keep ur side safe. This is basic funda of Corporate world.
