I was actually selected in CTS as a contractor, and later on, I was offered a position on their payroll. I have previously worked with five companies and have a total of around nine years of experience. However, my background verification is stuck on one of the companies which closed after I left. It was a small company run by a government employee.
As it was a small company, I was only given an experience letter. We used to receive our salaries by cheques, so I do not have salary slips as well. Now, the BGV team is telling me that they are unable to prove the existence of this company, and my employment could be terminated immediately.
I have worked with an MNC in my previous two companies, but I have never been in such a situation before. I believe I may have to leave CTS as I do not have anything to prove my employment at the closed company.
Please suggest the next course of action and any other helpful advice.
