How Should I Handle Terminating a Habitually Absent Employee? Seeking Guidance from Experienced HRs

Randhir the great
Dear Seniors, In our plant, there is a laborer who has been absent for 2 days without any intimation. He has a habit of taking leave without informing us every 3-4 days. We have already issued him show cause and warning letters and even suspended him for 3 days due to this misconduct. Despite sending him a final warning letter, he did not accept it. When his seniors tried to talk to him, he responded in a very unprofessional manner.

Termination Procedure Guidance Needed

Now, the management wants to terminate his employment, and the decision is pending with me. Please suggest the proper procedure to address this situation as it is relatively new to me.

In this case, give him another show-cause letter. As usual, he will provide unsatisfactory answers. Based on that, you can initiate a pending enquiry. You can use previous misconducts as supporting evidence. In the pending enquiry, you can decide on termination.
