PAN Card Retain

Hello,
I have got a job offer with an IT Company and they have asked me to submit original PAN card or passport which they will retain. Please may I know why they are asking for original PAN Card/Passport.

why?
Ask for reasons. There is no good reason as to why they want to retain your originals. Originals have to be returned to you after verification.

Thanks for your reply. I asked the HR people of that company. They said they will retain for verification and will return back to me once I complete my one month employment with that company.
