Salary Calculation for February in a Hospitality Organization

I have a question and need clarification on this issue. How do I calculate the salary for the month of February? I work in a Hospitality Organization as an HR professional, but I am unsure about how to calculate the salary for February.

Our company follows a specific procedure: if there are 31 days in a month, we calculate the salary based on 31 days. For example, Salary = X, Working Days = Y, Month Days = 31 or 30. We follow this formula: X/31 * Y = Employee's Monthly Salary.

Please guide me on how to calculate the salary for the month of February.

Notes on Salary Calculation

• We provide one paid leave to each employee every month.
• We also mark half a day if an employee arrives late.
• If an employee has worked in February and arrived late, we mark half a day and adjust one leave. How should I calculate the salary for this employee?
• What is the procedure according to labor law and HR systems?

There is a common method for calculating employees' salaries on a monthly basis, i.e., "Salary / Month days * No. of days employee working." Month days may vary, with 31 days for months like Jan, Mar, May, 30 days for months like Apr, Jun, Sep, and 28/29 days for February. There is no particular method for calculating the salary for February. You can calculate the February month salary using the same method as above but considering the month to have 28 days. The remaining policies you are implementing (late coming, PLs) are the same every month.
