Confused About Family Pension Certificate Rules After Changing Jobs – Need Guidance!

Hi, I need help and advice. I worked in a school for 11 years and have received the Family Pension Scheme Certificate. Later, I joined another institution and have been working there for the past 5 years. I plan to resign from the present school. I submitted my previous Family Pension certificate to my present school, but they refused to accept it. They replied that since I have worked only for 5 years, they will not accept my previous certificate. I think that is against the rules. I believe I am being misguided. I don't know what to do. I am confused. Please guide me on how to take the matter further.

You are already in the Family Pension Scheme from your previous job. Before joining your new job, you need to provide details of your existing Scheme certificate so that the pension fund contributions can be deposited into your current account. Working for 5 years is not an issue; your PF contributions should start from the very first month. Please verify with your current employer if your contributions have been paid. If they have, then apply for the claim using Form No. 19. For the Family Pension Scheme (Form 10C), you must provide details of your scheme certificate. Your issue will be resolved. If not, please contact the Provident Fund Commissioner or Labour Commissioner for further assistance.
