Is My EPFO PF Balance Correct? Help Me Understand the Discrepancy!

ASHI_2008
Hi, as per a message received from EPFO (online checking), my PF balance is EE Amount 2505 and ER Amount 480 as of 21/02/14, with the account updated up to 31-03-2013. My deduction as per my salary slip is PF 780 and PFVOL 468. The deduction started in January 2013, and I left the company in July 2013. Is the amount showing in the EPFO online message correct, or is there any discrepancy in the calculation/contribution? Kindly clarify.

My understanding is that you drew your January salary in February. Up to 31.03.2013, one more salary, namely the salary for February, will be due. For two months, your PF deduction at 12% will amount to 780x2=1560, and voluntary contributions of 468x2=936, totaling 2496. The remaining 7 may be the interest.

Out of the employer's contribution of 780, 239 will be credited to the PF account. For two months, this will be 239x2=478. The remaining 2 may be the interest.

Hi Abbas, thanks for your inputs. I am also confused about why the updates are showing until 31st March 2013. Is it calculated annually?

Notice Period and Leave Adjustment

Secondly, as per the appointment letter, I was supposed to serve a two-month notice to the organization. However, I served only 1 month and 11 days. I had 12 leaves which I requested to adjust during my remaining notice period, but they deducted 20 days' salary instead of adjusting the leaves in the full and final settlement.

Provident Fund Credit

Now, shall I get the remaining months' PF credited to my account? How long does it generally take?

Looking forward to your valuable inputs.
