Hello all,

I am currently pursuing an MBA in HR from a B-grade college. After completing this degree, what other qualifications can I add to enhance its value? My undergraduate degree is a simple BBA. Please suggest...

Hi Purnendu,

I am very happy to hear that you want to further your studies. You can consider pursuing a Ph.D. from a university. There are numerous Indian universities offering Ph.D. programs that you can explore. Additionally, you have the option of enrolling in a postgraduate course in a specialized subject, such as OB or IR, among others.

Hi,

MBA is regarded very much as a professional qualification. If you're looking for an academic qualification, see what universities are offering postgraduates, MPhils, and PhDs. If your interest is in a professional area, review what options are available as well. The final choice is yours.

Hello Friend,

I completely agree with the suggestions made to you by my friends out here. Further to that, you can even opt for an MS program from any university in the US that will provide you with an edge over your other counterparts in the industry. A PhD would be very much in place once you get experience in a particular field and identify the topic of your research.

Hi Manasa,

All universities in India that offer an MBA course also offer a Ph.D. in HR. You can pursue a Ph.D. in Business Management with a specialization in marketing, finance, operations, HR, SCM, e-commerce, etc.

Additionally, you can take the UGC-JRF exam, which is held twice a year in June and December. The University Grants Commission (UGC) provides a stipend of Rs. 8000, or possibly more now, for three years for full-time Ph.D. studies. You can also enroll in ICSSR, the Indian Council for Social Science Research, which offers both student and faculty fellowships for Ph.D. studies. If you are unemployed after completing your MBA, you can enroll in a university and avail yourself of this fellowship, but you must have qualified the UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test). If you are a faculty member in a business school, you can benefit from the faculty pay-protected fellowship, but again, you need to have cleared the UGC-NET.

In Tamil Nadu universities, including IGNOU and others, there are also correspondence Ph.D. programs.

Hello friend,

Since you are pursuing an MBA in HR, that's a good qualification to secure a worthwhile job. However, it depends on what type of career you are interested in.

After completing your MBA, if you are interested in a software career profile, you can earn well by pursuing SAP in HR. Alternatively, if you are still interested in upgrading your qualifications and aiming to become an academician, lecturer, or professor, you can enroll in a Ph.D. program in Management studies.

May God bless you, and may you have a brighter career.

Thank you, with best regards,

Sonit,

I was exploring the old topics and found your comment. Can you help out with the brief of this MS programme, how to approach it, and where? I am waiting for your reply.

Thanks, Manas

Hi there!

Why do you want to pursue higher studies? I think an MBA is good enough. It might be better to start working now for the next 3-4 years, gain some valuable experience, and then consider further studies. I am sure that once you begin working, your perspective on higher studies will change.

But, why are you interested in higher studies? Is there a specific reason? Or are you feeling lost and directionless, and just considering higher studies to keep yourself occupied?

Remember, there is more to life than just studying, my friend! Someone your age should explore other fulfilling activities. I hope you understand the implications of studying intensely for such a long period.

Take care and stay in touch. Regardless, best of luck.

Your well-wisher
