How to Calculate Wages for 89 Days of Absence Due to Injury? Seeking Advice

ANIL AMETA
A half-monthly installment equal to 25% of the monthly wages. As one of our workers got injured, temporarily disabled, and did not report for duty for 89 days, his salary per day is Rs. 185. The average salary comes to Rs. 185 per day. Kindly calculate the wages for the 89 days of absence, please.

Can't you calculate 25% of 185 and multiply it by the number of days? Compensation for the first 14 days = 25% of 185 x 14. Compensation for the remaining period = 50% of 185 x 75.

We have an SBI General Insurance Policy that covers the full Workmen's Compensation Act of 1923 and its amendment as the Employee Compensation Act of 2009. According to this, they have calculated a claim for 89 days of absence (Temporary disablement calculation sheet attached herewith, please). Kindly review and confirm whether the calculations are correct or not.

Thanks,

As per the Workers' Compensation Act for Temporary Disability, the period for half-monthly payments is equal to 25% of the installment payment. After rejoining duty, can disabled workers receive the wage difference for this period or not? Kindly clarify the same.

Thanks.
