Navigating Job Applications: Will MNCs Value My IT Experience Despite Delayed Degree Completion?

scorpio29
Hi Folks, I have 5+ years of IT experience as a Software Engineer and am currently working for an IT company. However, I am a bit confused when applying for jobs at reputed MNCs. I completed my master's degree two years later in 2011 with a 75% score, instead of in 2009, due to financial circumstances. My IT career began in 2009 when my previous employer hired me based on my graduation degree. If I have to apply for a job, should I show less experience than I actually have, which I do not want to do? I am looking for a better solution or suggestions to move forward.

Will MNCs Accept My Experience?

Will any MNC be willing to accept a candidate with over 5 years of stringent IT experience but who completed their master's degree (highest qualification) two years later?

Thank you.

Clarifying Your Situation in the Cover Letter

Have you clearly explained the situation in your covering letter, which you send along with your application? If not, you should.

What is your degree? The details you mentioned are a bit confusing. You mentioned you completed your Master's in 2011 instead of 2009—did you join in 2007? Was it a full-time course or through correspondence/part-time? And what's the Master's degree?

As Simhan rightly said, you can mention in your cover letter/resume that you completed your graduation in 2007 and started your career with an IT company in 2009. Along with your job, you pursued your master's degree, which was completed in 2011. I hope this serves your purpose.
