Struggling to Hire Sales Candidates in Mumbai: Is Our Salary Offer the Problem?

We are having difficulties finding two suitable candidates for the sales profile. It is primarily a client acquisition role for financial products and is based in Dadar, Mumbai. We do not want to engage an HR agency at the moment but have subscribed to a job site < mon*.com>. It has been almost 2 months, and we are still unable to find a single candidate.

Question:

1. We are planning to offer a take-home salary of 15k plus actual TA. Is this not a fair salary for this profile?

2. We do not have a dominant brand presence but are known in Mumbai's broking industry. Is this lack of brand recognition causing challenges in attracting candidates?

3. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide guidance on how to hire a candidate.

While shedding more light on the JD/JS and the required competence for this profile will make it more appealing even to passive candidates, you must also specify if the candidate needs to be from the specified vicinity and the target threshold as mentioned by (Cite Contribution).

Having said all this, I would also like to acknowledge all the time you've spent waiting for the right candidate. I suggest you allow local Placement Agencies to provide you with shortlisted candidates. Since the number of positions to fill is small (i.e., 2), you can pay them on a per-shortlisted-candidate basis. This will be light on your pockets and also relieve you of the stress quickly; hopefully!

Job Description:

- Acquisition of New Clients
- Selling financial products like Trading and Demat A/c, Mutual Funds, FD, Bonds, etc.
- Maintaining client relationships
- Generating references from existing clients
- Building strong relationships with the intermediaries
- Providing proper information on the products to clients and intermediaries, etc.
- Identifying product improvements or new products by staying current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.

Experience: 6 months to 2 years.

There are many free tools available to post a job. There are so many social media sites available to post a job, and a few of them are mentioned below:

1. Skill pages
2. LinkedIn
3. Facebook (It has groups wherein you can join and post your requirement)
4. Monster also has a job posting facility

I am sure if you use social media for hiring, you will get the best results. I hope I am on the right track.
