Worried About Absconding from a BPO? How It Might Affect Your New Software Job

Hello, I am a fresher. I worked in a BPO/KPO for 2 months as I did not have any job. But later, I got a job as a Software Engineer in an MNC (as a fresher), and the joining was immediate, so I absconded from the BPO job.

Query Regarding Absconding and Its Impact

My query is: Will the absconding affect my current job? (In terms of background verification and for income tax and PF account-related matters?) (Note: BPO salary was less than 2 lac p.a. So income tax was not in the picture there.)

I am really tense because of this. Please advise.

Chances are that if there is a background verification check, it will likely come back negative. Therefore, it is advisable to inform your current HR about this and seek a solution from them. They will certainly provide guidance. Alternatively, you can consult your immediate reporting boss regarding the same.

As the previous employment was only a couple of months, do not disclose it to a new employer. It will be okay if you haven't already mentioned it. If you have, it's better to discuss this with your current HR.
