Is There a Recent Update to Paternity Leave Laws? Seeking Clarity for Our IT Company

Hi, I am working in an IT services company. Please let me know if there is any change in the Paternity Act, as we are currently offering 2 days of paternity leave to our employees.

I have not come across any Act by the name Paternity Act similar to the Maternity Benefit Act. However, I understand that there is a provision for paternity leave in the service rules of some companies, for which you need to frame a policy.

I fully agree with Mr. Sai Kumar and Mr. Pon. There is no Paternity Act in force in India. However, as rightly said by Mr. Sai Kumar, there is a provision for Paternity Leave in some companies. Therefore, please refer to the policy, and if it requires amending, consult the management and make the necessary amendments accordingly.
