Can TCS Really Blacklist Me for Not Joining After Accepting Their Offer? Seeking Advice!

ITEmployee
Hi all, Need your views on the situation below!

I appeared for an interview and cleared it with TCS. TCS gave me an offer letter which I accepted via email. However, now I have received a better offer from another organization and don't want to join TCS.

When I informed the TCS HR representative about this (approximately 20 days before the joining date), he mentioned that if I don't join TCS, he would withdraw the offer and potentially blacklist me from TCS (since all background checks have been completed). He stated that this action would prevent me from joining TCS in the future.

Can TCS actually do this? Can they blacklist my name?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, they can blacklist you within their own organization and not consider you for any job with them. They have spent money on recruiting you and have found you to be an unreliable candidate.

You could also blacklist a company and choose not to join them if you have found them treating you the same way as you have treated TCS.
