How Can I Add Essential Safety Points to My Workshop SOP for Tools and Equipment?

VirtualD
Hi, I have developed an SOP regarding the repair jobs carried out in my workshop. However, being new in the field, I am unable to incorporate safety components into the processes. An official commented that the SOP only highlighted quality and not safety.

What Kind of Safety Points Can Be Added to SOPs Concerning Tools and Equipment?

Dear Friend, this is the second thread that has been created by you, but you have not revealed your name. Why make changes in the salutation every time? In the earlier thread, it was VirtualF, and now it is Virtual D. I strongly request you to come up with your identity if you are truly a beginner in this field and wish to learn.

However, let's forget about the above. Come back to your concern. Share your SOP that you prepare with this forum. I assure you that I will give you my suggestions. If you are participating in this forum with a genuine desire to learn, you will surely learn a lot from the forum members.

I look forward to hearing from you.

As Mr. Dipil mentioned, please share your SOP; your query was not clear regarding what kind of repair job you are referring to and what kind of equipment you are going to use, etc.

Mr. Dipil, thank you for your prompt reply on this thread to our member.

In an SOP, safety points related to tools, tackles, and manpower will vary for different kinds of jobs performed by different individuals. Unless and until you share the details and SOP, it will be a challenging task.

Suggested Safety Points for SOPs

Anyhow, you can add:

- Safekeeping of tools and equipment at their proper place
- Cleaning the work area - dirt/oil spillage, etc.
- Using the required PPE.

You can continue to add points in a similar manner.

Sir,

I am unsure whether the colleagues would appreciate my discussion in this forum, thus using an alternate name. Forgive me if it's unwarranted.

I am adding the SOP of Pump Overhauling. While I do have some ideas on how to make it safety-rich, some guidance is required on the subject.
