I was in the service industry, and due to family issues in September 2013, I had to organize a firm for my brother's employment and set up a business link for the firm. Now, I want to move forward in my career and life by attending interviews. How can I justify my employment gap? Is it possible to secure a job by seeking increased salary and responsibility? I have over 3 years of experience in sales and marketing and had completed over 2 years in my last organization.

Do not worry. Firstly, update your CV and mention that you are still working (so that your CV can be shortlisted). At the time of the interview, just share the actual situation with them. If they find you capable enough for that job, this employment gap will not matter to the potential employer.
