Is It Possible to Break a One-Sided Overseas Training Bond? Seeking Advice

shan372
I need to know the following:

Bond Agreement for Overseas Training

I went for training for 2 weeks abroad. I had to sign a bond for 3 years, and if I left the company, I would have to pay 3 lakhs. The structure of the bond is such that I am going for training for my own skill development. The bond is completely one-sided, with repercussions in both cases: either the company terminates me or I leave, I have to pay the money.

Please guide me on whether I can break this bond or not.

Thanks.

Well, as per the bonds and agreements, one should pay the amount only if he/she leaves the company. However, they do not need to pay anything if the company terminates them. Please clarify this with HR.
