Leave Policy vs. Procedure: Do Employees Need Both or Just One?

Hello all,

I have prepared the policy and procedure for leave in our company. Can anybody tell me whether I have to give the leave policy to the employees, or is it enough if I provide the procedure?

Hi,

Before preparing the leave format, it is essential to be very clear. Once it is framed, please ensure it is finalized with your top-level management. Then, you have to explain it to your employees in a way that convinces them. If you only structure it after you start, your employees should not feel that you have assumed authority abruptly. Therefore, it is not necessary to present the policy upfront. Instead, try to explain it to them or proceed directly with your leave policy. Have them go through it and sign to acknowledge that they have read and accepted it.
