HR Courses: Practical Benefits and Recommendations

Are there any courses for HR that are practically helpful? Is SAP or other courses really beneficial for starting a career in HR? What sort of courses can a person with 3-4 years of experience pursue? Are payroll courses from the National Academy of Indian Payroll useful? I want to join some courses that are truly helpful.

Building a Career in HR

If you want to make a career in HR, you should primarily consider pursuing an MBA in HR. Later, you can also explore short-term specialization courses. Doing SAP HR is also a good choice to build a career in HR.

Along with those courses, try to gain practical knowledge and experience in various HR and payroll software, as companies are using many advanced HR software to streamline their HR and payroll processes.

There are many HR and payroll software options available, some of which offer a free or trial version like Saralpayroll. You can try it for free to understand how it works.

SAP will be a great career path, but I would suggest that you get some core experience before joining SAP. For example, if you are planning to do SAP HR, then I would suggest that you first gain some core experience in HR processes like recruitment, payroll, time management, training and development, performance management, and compensation management. Along with this experience, you could also attempt to get an SAP certification from a reputed SAP partner. As far as I know about SAP HR, your core knowledge will come in handy when you are working on various SAP implementations. You could also look for training in Oracle, as they are both competitors.

Dear all, very good evening. I have completed my Master's in HR and have nearly 2 years of recruitment experience as a Coordinator for an IT-based industry at junior and mid levels. Hi Mni, as I have told you before, you could explore a variety of other HR domains apart from recruitment. However, you would need to enhance your knowledge in areas such as training and development, payroll, etc., to excel in interviews. I am uncertain about the specific courses you should pursue.

Hi all, I wanted to do SAP, but I am currently working. Can we do this course on weekends?

You can surely do the SAP course over the weekends. However, from my knowledge, you will not be able to do justice to your training. If you are really looking to get into the SAP domain, you will need to practice a lot on the demo systems initially, maybe around 6 months. Since SAP freshers' requirements are minimal, it may be challenging to break into SAP. From my experience, if you are serious about SAP, then you will have to fully engage yourself in SAP—as they say, EAT, DRINK & SLEEP SAP. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts in SAP either.
