Should Our Gurgaon Office Give a Holiday for Delhi Elections? Seeking Your Thoughts

Hanumanth Raj
I am working for a company based out of Gurgaon, and some of our employees are from Delhi. There is an election in Delhi on 4th Dec 2013. Since there are no local elections, declaring a holiday by the company does not make sense because only a few employees come from Delhi. Should the company declare a holiday only for those who stay in Delhi, and for others, it would be normal working? Or is there a standard practice that other Gurgaon companies follow? Could someone kindly provide some thoughts/inputs/comments on the same.

Regards

Let the staff cast their votes and report to the office. This is what we are doing.

Notification received in the evening by the Labour Department Haryana for declaring 4th December as a holiday as per Section 10(1) of the Punjab Shops & Commercial Establishment Act, 1958.
