Is BPO Also Covered Under Special Allowance?

Is BPO call centers also covered under Maharastra Govt Special allowance benefit which is issued from 01/07/2013 to 31/12/2013?
and if yes then under which category if will come. Please suggest?

Hi,
BPO falls Under Bombay Shop and establishment Act,as BPOs are the business units that are not listed in any specific category.Therefore it is an establishment that is registered under the said act.

Your query seems to be whether BPOs are covered under Minimum Wages Act under which the State Government notifies minimum wages specifying basic an+ special allowances every six months. Yes BPO is covered since it s an establishment covered under Bombay Shops and Establishments Act and it is to be ensured that wages paid to different categories of employees in a BPO are in accordance with M.W.Act.

Ans. - Yes, Your BPO is registered under Shop & Commercial Establishment Act, absolutely you have to pay the salary as per under category of shop & Comm. Estb.
