Is My Cousin's Job Offer Valid If the HR's Name on the Letter Doesn't Match Their ID?

Tulips Li
Hi seniors, my cousin has received an appointment letter from an MNC signed by their HR personnel named ABC. Later, he found out that the name of that HR on his ID proof is XYZ, and ABC is his alias, for which he doesn't have official verification yet. In this case, is his appointment letter valid? If not, can he request another appointment letter with his original name on it? If they refuse to issue a new one, can he raise a legal issue regarding this matter? What would be the consequences?

Thanks and regards,

Since your cousin is working there, why do you have to get into all this? It's very simple. If the company recognizes that HR person as ABC, it's well and good, and there shouldn't be any second thoughts. But if it's not, you can always check out in the name of XYZ at the time of resigning and while getting a relieving letter.

Seriously, it's a very tricky situation, and I have never heard of it. However, the name of the person who signs the letter doesn't create any impact. Leave it as it is if this is not going to harm anyone.

It's a very strange case. ABC is the HR of a company, and he signs his name as ABC. Yet you say his real name is XYZ. How do you know all this? A person may have several aliases. But if he is well-known and recognized as ABC, under which he is working as an HR, then obviously all his educational certificates, etc., must be carrying this name. So there is nothing irregular about it. Or, are you implying that the person who is actually XYZ is someone impersonating or masquerading as ABC? If it is just a whiff of imagination, it might be a plot for a good thriller! If it is true, it is sensational.

Warm regards.
