Lost My Job, Now I Want to Help Others with Affordable CV Services – Any Advice?

Dear Members,

I have been made redundant from a managerial post after a change in the management of a company where I have worked for 8 years. I have this idea to start a website that offers highly professional CV writing at affordable prices (a fraction of what is usually charged), CV distribution in the UAE, providing a searchable CV database for employers at a nominal fee (let's say AED 1 per CV), in addition to other free services to help people understand the job market. CVs will be written by professional CV writers working per unit.

My aim is not only to make money but also to help those who need jobs. I understand how much a professionally written CV that reflects your true potential can affect your chances of getting hired.

Please advise or suggest any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Look at local recruitment companies. Are they not offering similar services bundled with job search? CV making or analysis can work well when bundled with other services. Selling it alone would be challenging.

Tough proposition. Also, with companies like Times' Step Ahead, etc., doing resumes, it will be very difficult for you to grow big enough.
