Job Offer Dilemma: Should I Resign Without a Signed Offer Letter in Hand?

S.Hameed
I have received a job offer from a reputed company in Muscat based on my professional experience. I have already signed the offer, and the surprising thing is that the GM is unwilling to provide me with a copy of the offer letter. He has committed to giving me the contract and offer letter duly signed by him on the day I start my duties. I now need to submit my resignation to my current company, assuming that I will secure the job with this new company with its attractive offers and facilities.

When I inquired with the GM, he explained to me that it is company policy not to issue hard copies of job offers due to confidentiality reasons. He assured me of a better position under him as the Operations Manager, as stated in the offer letter.

Please advise.
