Feeling Stuck: Can I Start an HR Career with No Experience After a Long Break?

thabasum shaik
Dear Seniors, I am Thabasum, and I am an MBA graduate from 2011, where I was the topper of my college. After completing my MBA, my parents did not allow me to work because they didn't want me to move out of my hometown. Now that I am married, my husband supports me in everything. I now aspire to work in HR. My concern is that I do not have any job experience. Will I be able to secure a job in this field?

Thank you in advance.

Not taking up employment due to marriage should not be a constraint. Also, taking up the responsibilities of marriage and homemaking for two years should not be treated as a stigma. Be patient and keep applying for positions that are open to freshers.

Warm regards.

As a topper, you will not find any difficulty in getting a job. Just prepare your mind to explain your employment gap in your resume and during interviews. As Raj Kumar said, marriage and taking care of household responsibilities is not a stigma.

Best wishes

Hi Thaba, why are you pessimistic when you have a desire to go for a job? Go for it, search in every possible way, and surely you'll get it. Before that, plan for your home-making/family commitments.

Employers will love to have you because you are settled in life and a topper. Just revise all your notes and click the refresh button in your mind. Apply confidently and face the interview boards. All that will happen is they will treat you as a fresher, which is not an issue as you are, in fact, a very highly qualified fresher. Congratulate your husband for supporting you.

Bindaaazzz, go ahead and fly high in your career. Blessings.

Regards,
Dr. Ram
