Confused About Pension Fund Transfers? Here's How to Handle It When Changing Jobs

Vipin_Jain
Hi, this is a query on pension fund transfer/withdrawal. My total experience is 9 years. I joined my current organization around 2 years ago, and this is my third company. After joining this organization, I initiated the EPF transfer request from my previous organizations to the current one, and the amount got transferred successfully. However, my E-passbook on the EPFO (Govt. of India) site shows only the provident fund (EPF) has been transferred.

Query on Pension Fund Transfer and Withdrawal

1. Is it possible to transfer the pension fund from the previous organization to the current one? If yes, then what is the procedure?

2. Is it compulsory to withdraw the pension fund when I change the company? If yes, then what is the procedure for withdrawal?

Thanks,
Vipin

You can transfer your account to a new PF account number by submitting Form 19 to the previous RPFC. You cannot withdraw it as you have more than 10 years of membership.

Thank you for your reply. However, isn't Form 19 for provident fund transfer? My query pertains to the pension fund. Additionally, my total experience is 9 years. Can I make a withdrawal?

By transferring the provident fund pension account, the funds will also get transferred. There is no prescribed form for the transfer of the pension fund. It was my mistake to mention Form 19; the correct form is Form 13.
