Designation changed to BDE - Will i have growth in this field further?

Madhuri dhulipala
I have 1 year of experience as a HR executive, now my designation has been changed into business development executive. I'm confused to take up the challenge and continue with the BDE. Will i have growth in this field further? Please suggest me which field i need to select and grow my career as well.

Dear Madhuri,
You have worked as a HR Executive and now you have been designated as BDE. Designations hardly matter, what matters is the work and authority. If you feel the work allotted to you is interesting and challenging and moreover, you are confident to handle it, well there is no reason to deny the new assignment. On the other hand, I always suggest that people of one branch should not restrict their knowledge and understanding to a particular area, but it should be many -fold. HR people must know production, marketing, accounts, business etc and vice-versa.
You may have any field, but hard work, study, good knowledge, sincerity, understanding, fairness and such things are indispensable.
I suggest you can accept new assignment and prove your are a good executive by accepting challenges.
Good luck.

Dear Madhuri,
Discuss the roles and responsibility of BDE to your boss and if you feel that you can handle the designation then you should accept it. well actually, you should say YES in any case and face the challenge. Saying NO to upcoming challenges during career is not a good practice

Dear Abdullah Sir,
I sincerely thank u for your suggestion. Yes of course, i have discussed with my boss about the roles and responsibilities they are fine to me and i'm much confident of completing the work at earliest. So i never say NO to the work assigned by my higher authorities i do respect and follow them. But i petty much confused that the position which i got is as a promotion?

Dear Madhuri,
Challenges are in every field and profession.
First thing which you need to decide is your field of interest.
=> BDE profile mainly requires a person to be good in Communication cycle, Inter Personal Relationships, Soft Skills and to have flexibility in movement. You have to work on set targets, to achieve business objectives.
=> As an HR you look into Recruitment, Inductions, Training and Development, Salary negotiations and salary preparations, Statutory and Regulatory compliances, CSR activities, Exit formalities, Audits and some times General administrative work.
In case if you are a beginner, focus on your career path.
With Best Wishes,

Yes i agree with Hema Madam .
Firstly you have to come to a concrete decision about your career.
Do you have want to make your career in HR role like recruitment ,training ,
payroll etc OR want to make career as business development executive .
Both the roles are totally different .So you have to analyse yourself study
your own strong and weak points .Then come to conclusion .
For instance i am into HR from the last so many years now if i am asked to go
on the field and hunt business i may not be able to do this .
Do SWOT analysis of yourself .it will surely help .
Regards and all the best .

Dear Madhuri,
You are at onset of your carrier now, hence in my opinion u should be adaptable to understand & accept newer challenges as it gives you opportunity of exposure to innovative learning. Having gone through myriad challenges you may evolve yourself as a probable to lead a separate unit involving varied business activities. Versatility is the need of hour. Contemplate & decide.
