Understanding Recent PF and ESIC Announcements
Please do not worry about these developments. The Provident Fund (P.F.) still stands at Rs. 6,500, and the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) stands at Rs. 15,000.
With the election around the corner, any such proposal needs detailed discussions in the Cabinet. The Cabinet needs to approve such proposals, and then they must be sent to the President for approval. After that, it has to be NOTIFIED/GAZETTED.
Meanwhile, there may be lobbying from corporations to postpone or even discard such proposals.
Let us wait to see if these changes are AMENDED, NOTIFIED, and GAZETTED. If it passes through various procedures, the effective date will be communicated. Until then, let us continue with our current practices.
Thanks for your understanding.

Observations on Legislative Processes
There was much concern when the Sexual Harassment Act was introduced, with many interpretations and articles. However, what happened? It has NOT YET BEEN NOTIFIED OR GAZETTED. The Central Government has yet to frame rules for it!
So, for any Central or State Act, let us wait for the proper Notification and Gazetting, where the effective date will be communicated in advance.
In India, nothing is implemented immediately, except for "an increase in the prices of essential commodities."
