Confused About Using Plurals in Company Names? Let's Discuss the Best Choice!

Hello Everyone, One of my friends wants to register his company; however, he is confused about whether the "S" should be placed at the end of the word. If yes, then why? Please help as this is urgent:

ABC entrepreneur or ABC entrepreneurs
ABC consultant or ABC consultants
ABC professional or ABC professionals
ABC service or ABC services
ABC associate or ABC associates

It is "Consultants" but not "Consultant." It is "Associates" but not "Associate." Ask him to put an "S" at the end.

If your friend is operating as a sole trader (in other words, by himself only), then it is correct to drop the 's' when describing himself as an entrepreneur, consultant, or professional. If he is offering a service, then it is correct to use the plural, as he can offer more than one service either at the outset or later. If the description is "associate," then by definition, there is more than one person (an associate), and the plural must be used.

However, if the business is registered as a limited company, then the plural must always be used, even if he is the only one. The reason for this is that you are a legal entity, and the company is also a separate legal entity, therefore more than one. In legal terms, you are an officer of the company (you are only the owner by virtue of the shareholding, which is a separate matter), and the company can appoint more officers at any time.
