Navigating PF Withdrawal Without a Relieving Letter: What Steps Should I Take?

SahniManish1985
Hi All, I was employed in an organization and I left it without serving the proper notice period. So, I don't have a relieving letter with me. I went through this forum and understood the process, but still, I have some queries.

1. What should be my course of action to withdraw the PF?
2. What documents do I need to send to withdraw the PF, and to whom? Should I send it to my organization (employer), Hindustan Instruments Ltd (PF firm for the organization), or the EPF office?
3. If I have to send all the documents to the EPF office, how can I get the address of the office?
4. Is there any format or order in which the documents should be sent?
5. How can I keep track of the submitted application? In case I need to file an RTI.

Please let me know the complete process. I shall be very thankful. Kindly help. Thanks much.

Sir,
1) The reply to the 1st question is that you should apply to the concerned EPF office (can tell if you provide the PF number) in Form 19 & 10C, which you can download from the website Epfo (Govt. of India).
2) If you are employed in some other company, you have to transfer the accumulations to the new company. For this purpose, you have to apply for a transfer in Form 13. There is now a provision to apply for transfer through your new company and online also.
3) You can visit the website Epfo (Govt. of India) to know the exact address of the concerned EPF office.
4) Form 19 & 10C, and a cancelled cheque. The claim forms should be routed through the ex-employer if you are not employed anywhere. If you are now employed, you get the amount transferred, which will benefit you in the long run.
5) You can track the claim status on the website Epfo (Govt. of India) under "Know your claims Status".

Thank you for the reply. I still have a few queries unanswered—if you could help. My PF number is HIL EPF Trust-HR/5572/261863.

Queries Regarding PF Withdrawal

Following are the queries:

1. I want to withdraw the PF amount. Where should I submit the documents? EPF office, HIL office, or my employer's office?

2. Required Documents for PF Withdrawal

- Form 10C and 19—attested by a Notary (because the previous employer is not cooperating. What should I do now?)
- A letter to EPF stating the reason for getting a sign from a notary
- Cancelled cheques (2)
- Photo
- PAN
- Affidavit on Rs 100 paper attested by a notary—attesting that I am not employed anywhere

Is there anything else that should be sent? Please confirm. Thanks again.

Sir, normally you have to submit the forms through your ex-employer. As you have problems with your ex-employer, you can get attestation from any gazetted officer or from the manager of the bank where you maintain an account. The bank manager can attest your claim in the space provided for the employer, with a reason why you could not send it through your ex-employer. I would suggest that if you are employed anywhere, you can transfer your account. No need to go to a notary. No need for any affidavit.

I have one more question: What would be the EPF office address and how can I check the PF balance? Please help.

EPF Withdrawal Process

Your EPF accumulation can't be stopped by the employer. You have your EPF account number. Simply fill out Form 19 & 10C and enclose a complaint letter with the form, which states that your previous employer is not signing the withdrawal claims. Submit the same to the concerned EPF office after getting it duly signed by your banker, gazetted officers, notary advocate, members of legislatures, councillors, etc. The EPFO officials will take action against the employer.

Secondly, if at present you have an EPF number with your current company, then transfer your accumulation by simply filling out Form 13.

Can someone please suggest which EPF office I should submit the papers to and how I can check the PF amount that I have.

Sir,

Since your accounts are maintained by the HIL Trust, you have to claim your PF from the Trust, which is maintained by your ex-employer. In respect of the Pension, you have to apply to the PF office. You can visit the website Epfo (Govt. of India) to understand more. Since your account is maintained by the Trust, you have to get the account balance only from the Trust. If it is maintained by the PF office, you can verify from the website mentioned above.

My PF number is HIL EPF Trust-HR/5572/261863. My question is: Should I send the documents to the PF trust or the EPF office? If I have to send the documents to the EPF office, what should be the address?
pkmbgr13@gmail.com
If you know your PF account number and the code of your previous organization, you can check your PF account status online. There are provisions through which you can withdraw your PF amount, but it would be better if you meet with the relevant personnel from your previous organization and request assistance in this matter. If they refuse to help, you can proceed with a direct withdrawal.

My PF number is HIL EPF Trust-HR/5572/261863. Could you please provide the EPF office address for the organization - HIL?

If I am not mistaken, your establishment name is 'HINDUSTAN INSTRUMENT' and the address is "3 UDYOG VIHAR GURGAON." As far as the EPF office is concerned, it is in GURGAON with the address "Bhavishya Nidhi Bhawan, Plot No. 43, Sector 44, Institutional Area, Gurgaon."

Follow the link below. This may help you:

Big organizations will have their own trust-HR that cannot be shared with EPFO. Therefore, you must contact your HR directly. I also searched but failed to check my PF amount.

Dear Sir,

Kindly help me. We have transferred the ex-employer's PF to our new employer's PF account, but it's stuck in the process after approval from both sides. This status has been ongoing for the last year. We tried to withdraw, but our claim was rejected. Kindly suggest what we should do.

Thank you.
