How Many Days Notice Period - No Confirmation Letter?

i am working in a company but i didi not receive the confirmation letter but i have received only Appointment letter and promotion letter if i want to resign how many days notice period should be given
because in appointment letter they have given one word that 06 months you will be in probation after that we will provide confirmation letter but still now not

You mentioned that you got your Promotion Letter--when did you get it?

Probation and confirmation of employment are different from resignation and notice period but connected to each other. And generally no appointment /employment letter can be issued or fulfill the purpose of it without these conditions, so you might have missed it, therefore, I would suggest you to read your appointment letter again to get the notice period clause.
Second, after your probation period when you were supposed to get your confirmation letter from your employer, you must have asked for the same if found they failed to do so. Now you say, how many times you've tried to get your confirmation letter?
Lastly, in general terms there shall be 3 months of notice period maximum based on organizational policies which will be applicable if you are planning to resign but It WOULD BE BEST IF YOU TRY TO SPEAK WITH YOUR HR PERSONNEL FOR YOUR CONFIRMATION LETTER AND NOTICE PERIOD DETAILS DIRECTLY

i have joined in the company in april 2012
1) sub written appointment letter
2) regarding confirmation : it is clearly written (06 months on probation period and after receiving the confirmation letter you will as confirmed)
3) regarding resignation there is no information only about termination there is
4) i have received promotion letter in april 2013.
5) regarding confirmation i have spoken to HR many times but one word i am getting replay (we will get back )
now kindly tell me what to do
