How Do I File EPF and ESIC Arrears for Backdated Salary Increases? Seeking Guidance

shailendra2680
Dear Seniors, I am working in a Pvt Ltd company. My company has increased the salary of staff and workers in September 2013, effective from April 2013. Now, I have to file PF arrears and ESIC arrears. However, I don't know how to fill arrears wages, whether they will be included in the monthly challan or if they should be submitted in a separate challan. Please help me regarding this.

Dear Shailendra,

PF on increment/arrears is to be deposited just like your normal monthly installments to the bank, and the information for it will have to be furnished along with your monthly return (Form 12A, challans, etc.). The below link will help you for ESIC:

[ESI Contributions | Contributions for arrears of wages](http://www.esicmaharashtra.gov.in/htmldocs/esic_contribution_arrears.htm)

Seniors, please verify.

Sir, you have to remit the amount through ECR. Please note that the amount has to be remitted within 15 days from the date of disbursement of arrear wages.

Thank you for your valuable suggestion. Could you please clarify whether it is also compulsory to pay ESIC arrears within 15 days of disbursement?

Thanks again,
