Will Overlapping Employment Dates Cause Problems with My New Job Documents?

technical
I received my relieving and experience letter from my previous company on July 31, 2010, 11 days after joining a new company on July 20, 2010. My resignation was accepted on July 24, 2010, in the previous company, and they relieved me after 11 days, following a 4-day extension in my previous company.

I would like to know if this could create issues when submitting documents from my previous company as I joined the new company on July 20, 2010, and was relieved on July 31, 2010, which was 11 days after joining the new company.

I need an urgent reply, please.

Approaching HR with Documentation

It is better to approach the HR of a new company and inform them by showing your resignation letter, acceptance letter, and the relieving letter instead of them asking you or questioning you.

Thanks for your help, but I don't have the resignation email because I sent that email through the company mailbox, which was later closed. My only problem is the 11-day gap between joining the new company on July 20, 2010, and my resignation being accepted on July 24, 2010, with them relieving me on July 31, 2010. It was 11 days later after joining the new company.

I want to know if it can create a problem during joining a new company because HR may ask about this 11-day gap between the new company and my previous company.

Employment Overlap and Legal Implications

It is clear that you were employed by both organizations for 11 days, which is not legally allowed. These days might have overlapped because your previous employer took a few days to process your resignation acceptance. In large companies, HR departments must collect NOCs from many departments, and only if everything is in order will they issue a relieving letter.

Since this is a matter of very few days, it is not an intentional violation. It would be better to explain the situation to your new employer. Also, ensure that you receive a salary for these 11 days from only one company. You may request the previous company to pay you up to July 19th, or, even though you joined the new company on the 20th, request them to consider your joining effective from August 1st.
