Employee Received Excess PF After Leaving – How Should We Handle This Situation?

rkng1975
One of our employees claimed a PF amount under 19C after leaving in October 2010. We filed the DOL as October 2011, and he received an amount in excess for one year. The employee is not refunding that. What should we do? Can anyone kindly clarify this? His Form 10C is held up. Let me know whether it is their mistake or ours.

Hi, even though you mention excess PF, the department will cross-check with their records, and only they will credit the funds to the employees. If there are any issues with claims, the PF department will handle the problem.

Thanks, Jeevan. They haven't cross-checked, and they paid the employee the claim from Form 19C. Now, the PF official is asking us (the company) to pay back with interest. What should we do?

Jeevan
