The Government has decided to increase the salary limit for coverage of ESI from Rs 15000 to Rs 25000.

This is very bad decision for the both employee and employer. because if we see the monthly contriution as on today is Rs.263 per month from employees wages and Rs. 3156 per annum. i think this is very much contibuiton we are already paying from our pockect to the govt against the benefit what we received . and now they have increasing the celling from 15000 to 25000 i.e. means almost the double the contribution. this is not a Legitimate Decision (wise decision) for labor employment, as the service we have receive from the ESIC. very fast they are increasing the celling ....

The enhancment of this limit will reduce the burden of employer and increase burden of an employee!!

Is the official notification published? Please update any official info, will be able to configure its effects only then.

The increase of the the ESI limit to Rs. 25,000 will bring more employees into the ESI fold i.e. from those who are earning Rs. 15,000/- gross to those who are earning Rs. 25,000/- gross .
There will not be an increase in the burden of employers or employees .

The gap between 15k to 25k salary drawers will also fall into ESI!. Automatically 4.75% of employer contribution is the additional.
