How Should We Create an OHS Policy When Our Employees Work Across Different Companies?

deepthi_regalla
Hi friends, OHS policy is made compulsory in almost all IT companies. Ours is a networking company, and we provide networking support to our clients. Our employees work for different companies. So, how do we prepare an OHS policy? By the way, we follow the rules of our customers. So far, is it necessary to prepare and follow the policy? Please advise.

Regards,

It is not necessary to make an OHS policy for your industry if you are only engaging in networking.

Dear Deepthi, First of all, welcome to the EHS Forum of CiteHR. We appreciate the interest shown by HR professionals like you in the field of EHS. If you are asking whether it is compulsory to create an EHS policy for a consultancy/networking firm, the answer is no.

Understanding the Importance of an EHS Policy

However, it is important to understand the significance of an EHS Policy. What exactly is it? Why are you receiving demands from your clients for an EHS Policy? Why is there an increasing demand for safety in our country even though there is not much enforcement from the various regulatory bodies?

Consider developing an EHS Policy for your company. It is essentially a commitment from your management to stakeholders, stating that they will prioritize the environment, health, and safety of all involved in the company's operations and activities. This is a way to demonstrate your company's dedication to EHS, which will always add value. Please proceed to create one.
