Hiring a Nepali System Administrator in India: What Are the Necessary Steps and Formalities?

Nidhoi Jain
Hello everyone, we are an India-based company, and we want to hire a Nepali individual as a system administrator. Could you please tell me what the process and formalities are so that we can hire a non-Indian person?

As regards your query, it is submitted that no work permit is required for a Nepali national for a job in India. There is an open border between the two countries and also the Treaty of Peace and Friendship 1950. However, the identity of the person must be checked, and an ID proof document must be obtained to avoid mistaken identity.

No, a Nepal citizen does not need any work permit to work in India. However, some non-governmental bodies do not support Nepalis to come and work in India.

Well, I have recently hired a person from Nepal, and there was no problem at all. There is an open border between the two countries and also a Treaty of Peace and Friendship from 1950.

Regards,
Monica
