What Happens to Employee PF Numbers if a Company Resumes After a Year?

z_sachinkhare
Dear Seniors, I want to know one thing: if a company ran from 2011 to 2012 and had 25 employees during that period, with each employee being allotted a PF number (e.g., MP/BPL/20030/01, MP/BPL/20030/02 ... MP/BPL/20030/25), what happens if the company stopped operations for one year and resumed in 2013 with the same employees as before? Do the employees retain their previous PF numbers, or should new PF numbers be assigned?

Can we continue using the earlier allotted PF numbers for the employees?

Please guide me on this matter.

The EPF number issued previously remains with the employees to whom it was allocated. If they resign or leave, the number stays with them. For new employees, a new number will be allocated. The previous number cannot be assigned to a new employee. You can refer to their previous numbers.
