Our company is going to have a boot camp for the fresh engineers who have recently joined. It will be for 5 days continuously.

Suggestions for Boot Camp Activities

Please suggest some good activities, games, fun humor, presentations, or any such items that can be included in this. Appreciate your input.

I understand you are seeking ice-breaking activities or business games. To provide suitable suggestions, it is crucial to know the major activities you are engaging in with your team. You cannot introduce just any activity without considering the context. Additionally, the specific objectives, which may be critical or unique to your organization, need to be taken into account. The activities should be designed based on the key information you wish to impart. I hope this clarifies things for you, and I wish you all the best with your assignment.

Best regards,
Mona

Until now, we have only had a welcome speech, company information, orientation, and some presentations in this program. We need something that will add humor, fun, and value to this camp.

If you are talking about a Boot Camp for freshers, it is better to engage in activities that can provide them with sufficient knowledge about the organization, professionalism, and interrelations. Since you are addressing freshers, during these five days, you should help them understand the difference between an institution and a profession. I hope they will participate happily.

You can do many things, some of which I can think of are the following:

1. After you have given them company info, you can ask them to draw creative mind maps of your organization, have them vote for the best one, and give that individual some souvenir. This will help them retain important info in their minds.

2. The suggestion given above is also good. You can engage a trainer or have a senior manager from within your company conduct a session on what makes a thorough professional, how to assimilate into your organizational culture comfortably, and how to build working relationships, etc. In this session, you can use various team-building games available on the internet.

3. On the last day, if you have provided them all presentations and company info in written form, you can ask them to write two questions (with answers) based on the information given to them on separate pieces of paper, fold and put them in a basket. Ask all of them to stand up, then ask each one of them to pick one from the basket. The facilitator should open and ask that question. When somebody answers correctly, they can sit down; if not, they should remain standing and wait for a second chance. Do this with everyone one by one. You can also give them something for correct answers just for fun. We gave chocolate boxes.

Best,

We have tried this game, and it works wonders. For this game, the equipment required includes a lot of old newspapers and gum or Fevicol. Divide the participants into teams, allocate time, and ask them to build castles. The team that constructs the highest castle wins. This activity improves teamwork, is fun, and serves as an icebreaker.

If you are already determined to go for any game or event for freshness, you can find a lot on websites. However, organize games that bring participants closer. An event that creates the scene of teamwork and achievement in their minds.
