Filing Income Tax Without Form 16: How to Handle Zero Tax Situations?

NSDL site only allows Form 16 Part A for employees whose Income Tax is deducted.

I have worked with two companies in the same FY. Tax is 0 in each company, but when I combine the income, I have some Income Tax to be paid. I could not file my IT return as Form 16 Part A is not available from either company.

While filling Income Tax Returns, an associate needs to consolidate his or her total income if they have two Form 16s in the same financial year. As you mentioned above, we can only download the Form 16s whose tax has been deducted during the financial year, as the employer will furnish Annexure-2 of tax deductees. However, an employee can request their employer for a NIL Form No: 16. Upon request, they will issue the same. Hence, you can request the same from your former and current employer for obtaining Form 16.
