Hellow Mr. Hamek, if minimum wages is Rs. 4500/-, the basic pay should be Rs.4500/- and to
comply with the Minimum Wages Act of your area you have to
add Dearness Allowance if it
is not paid.

Dear All;
When we put a question, it should be clear. Others should know what is exactly the problem to be answered.
In this case it is minimum wage. The question is not clear. If the question can be worded properly and asked again, more and more proper answers will come.

Dear Mr. Singh,
Please go through latest G.O. of your state government related to Minimum Wage. According to your industry category look what is basic & Dearness Allowance. Basic & DA should not be less that what is specified the G.O.. Normally Basic is fixed and DA( varies according to regional consumer price index) ,in the Min Wage G.O.

Dear All,

As per notification to revise minimum wages some time break up of Basic and DA given in it. Basic is generally fixed and revised in stipulated time. where as DA is revised in every six month as per regional consumer price index.

Earlier we were also facing the problem for making some payment to worker, which are to be calculted based on basic salary,

We find it clear from RLC (C) Guwahati, now we are receiving the notification for revision of DA w.e.f. 01 April and 01 October every year, where as basic is fixed since 2009 i.e. USW - Rs. 120, SSW- Rs.140 and SW Rs. 170 and DA is revised in every six month.

The above figures are based on Central Govt. Rate. It may vary state to state, but it is confirmed that basic contain all the allowances i.e.HRA, conveyance etc and DA depends on regional consumer price index.

Minimum wages mean sum of Basic and DA. Any thing more than minimum wages paid to workers depend upon the financial condition of an organisation or productivity of the worker, which must be fall in the category of either fair wages or living wages.

Dear Members,
Minimum Wage comprises of Basic + DA, which is been revised by the Central & respective State government on half yearly basis.
so while paying wages to your worker you need to take the following components on records and ensure that you pay exactly the wages specified in the notification issued by the Central / State Govt.
In case you require more clarification, do revert back.
