How Do I Explain Leaving My Job Due to Low Salary Without Hurting Future Prospects?

crote
Hi seniors, currently I am working as an HR assistant in a manufacturing company and have been in this role for one year. We are only two people in the HR department: myself and my Head of Department (HOD). My CTC is 1.2 lakhs per annum; however, I am receiving 7500 in hand per month.

Now, I am looking for a change because I can't fulfill my financial obligations with this salary. I don't see any chances of my HOD approving an increment, as he wants to reduce the cost of the HR department and use me at a lower salary. Therefore, I have started looking for other opportunities. However, other employers are asking me, "Why do you want to leave your current job?"

I would like to ask you seniors, what should I reply to this question? Honestly, I am looking for a change due to the low salary, but I know such a straightforward answer will not be accepted by future employers. Hence, please guide me regarding this.

Thank you.

Reasons for Seeking a New Job

The main reason I want to leave my present job is due to the lack of exposure and learning opportunities. In my current role, I am the only HR member apart from the Head of Department. As an HR generalist, I have learned everything I could from this position, but the learning opportunities are almost nonexistent. I am currently seeking an organization that provides a broader platform for learning. Growth is the primary driver for my desire to change, and I am looking for an organization that offers a wider spectrum, a strong learning culture, and greater stability.

Another reason for seeking a change is my dissatisfaction with my current salary. I am interested in joining an organization that offers a salary in line with the industry standards for my role.
