Feeling Stuck Between Comfort and Career Growth: How Do I Decide to Quit My Job?

r.harry
Hi all,

I am an architect working in a firm for 2.5 years. I had a plan to quit the job for better pay scale and good exposure. I informed the same to my management and took time for my relieving.

However, I am not able to quit because of my comfort and the flexibility I am enjoying in this office. Still, I want to quit for better prospects and PAYSCALE. Can anyone please help me out on how I should go about it?

I need advice to overcome this dilemma.

Dear Friend,

In this world, nothing is permanent. Neither happiness nor sorrow. One has to be open to changes. It is a common human tendency to get used to a certain condition and try to stick to a place where they are comfortable. They may not be open to changes. In the long run, it may be a negative quality too.

However, you should ask a few questions to yourself. You should make your mind discuss with dear ones and family. It may boost your confidence level. You may get better opportunities when you change the job. It may drive you to new heights.

Try to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the new job with the current one. Jot down all points on a sheet and give due weightage to them. You will get clarity of thoughts when you do so.

However, don't get confused with the alternatives and lose yourself.

All the best.
